In 1986 Max and Sherry Greiner launched their ART GIFT LINE, which for the first time made Max’s art available in less expensive, functional forms. Their goal was to create high quality gift designs in a variety of forms based on Max’s original copyrighted art compositions. Up until that time Max’s art was primarily available to art collectors in the form of expensive bronze sculptures, paintings and drawings, which sold for up to $8,000 each.
Today, Max’s ART GIFT LINE range in price from $5 to $500 and is available in a variety of forms. His designs are in homes, offices, churches, seminaries and schools in all 50 states and more than two dozen countries. However, the Greiners’ insistence on quality, both in the design and production, is still evident, no matter the price.
Max still personally designs each and every piece of work that bears his name. Every carving, every graphic and every design is still created by the artist. However, other excellent craftsmen now help Max produce his ART GIFT LINE which is made at American foundries and factories whenever possible.
Finally, each and every piece of Greiner art, no matter the size and price, includes the Greiner’s personal testimony for Jesus Christ. This is because the Greiners recognize that Max’s talents and his best ideas are from God. As a result, through their personal testimony the Greiners have literally pointed millions of people to Jesus Christ.
However, in July of 1988, the Greiners were tested. That year the Greiners introduced their new gift line at the Dallas Gift Show. Max was thrilled when the head buyers for Disney World came into their booth after spotting Max’s “Christian Butterfly”® Ornaments. The buyers conferred and then told the young artist they wanted to purchase his unique new design for all of their theme parks. However, they had two stipulations, that the word “Christian” be removed from the product name, and that Max’s personal testimony for Christ be removed from the packaging. Max informed the Disney World gift buyers that this could not be done because God had given him the “Christian Butterfly”® idea and because he had promised God that his testimony for Jesus Christ would go with every butterfly. As a result, the Greiners lost the Disney sale that day… but passed God’s test!
